As in any major sporting event, sponsors play an integral role. The Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race is a huge event. It could not happen without race staff, volunteers, media, and of course, sponsors. Sponsors receive exposure for their product or service and the enjoyment of simply supporting and being a part of the event.

For a musher, just getting to the starting line is half the race. Racing in the Iditarod takes more than dedication, desire, time, emotion, fortitude, long hours of training, and a strong well-cared for dog team. It takes money, too.
